I have a starter that will except 24 volts. How do I connect the (2) 12 volt batteries to make 24 volts? Pos. to Pos. or Pos. to Neg. (?) Thanks - Ron.

You need the batteries in series, positive to negative then the remaining negative and positive is to your load, i.e., starter.
