Default Smoke for 91 Four Cycle?

Anybody out there figured out how to make smoke on a 91 four-stroke engine? I have a friend who is curious how this can be done.

I used a 6v Sonic Tronics pump, wrapped about 4 turns of 1/8" copper tube around the header, and injected into the muffler nearest the header pipe. Worked fine.

Actually this was a 70 4 stroke, but the same thing applies.

I run smoke on my ys91. just about any commercial system (Like the Simple Smoke Pump from TME) will work. I use a windshiels washer replacement pump. FOr the oil, I use a product called Ultrasmoke (Do an RCU search for more info). You need to tap the header pipe as close to the head as reasonably possible to add a pressure tap to let the oil in.

Here is a diagram and a pic.

Default Smoke for 91 4T - A pumpless method….

A pumpless method….

Well I did it differently.
First I drilled a hole at the engine back plate. Thread it and attached a tube nipple.
I did the same to the muffler.
Connection as shown in the picture. The flow valve is manually adjusted using a screw driver and has and on/off with an on board servo.
Sorry that I have no picture from the plane, however I don feel like removing the engine.

If the engine has a pump, than connect the tube to the pressure release nipple which comes built-in with the engine.
