Default Iron On covering ??

Can you share your opinions on how Coverite Iron on flim and Towercoat compare to Monokote? I`ve used Monokote and Econokote, don`t really care for the Econokote. I`m guessing that the Towercoat is the same as Econokote, am I right?

I've never used Towercote, but I'm guessing that your guess is right.

21st century film was the first one I tried outside of MonoKote many years ago. It is MUCH easier to work with, and shrinks much better, but after a year or so, the plastic seperates from the color. So I stopped using that too.

Once I tried Ultracote, I never looked back!

MinnFlyer is right. Go to Ultracote. You will never use the other again.

The way he pushes the stuff, I think MinnFlyer must be the president, CEO, and sole stock holder of Ultracote.

You would think so, but I will state here and now for the record that I am in no way affilliated with Ultracote (Or any other RC products for that matter). It's just that when I really believe in a product, I like to let people know about it.

(In case you haven't noticed, I like CA Hinges too )

I am about to start my first covering job and I already have bought the monokote. You guys make me worry how it is all going to turn out. Next time I guess I will try to go with Ultracote.

Don`t worry, just follow directions and you will be fine. If monokote wasn`t so good it wouldn`t be as popular as it is...

The both have thier uses. I like Monokote because it does stick to itself so well. MinnFlyer likes Ultracote because you can get it off more easily later. It is a matter of preference. Both are excellent products. Lustercote, the paint that matches Monokote seems to be a better color match than the paint that is supposed to match Ultracote, althought Lustecote can be a pain to apply.

Try everything and use what works for you.
