latex paint color
Can't find a latex paint that remotely looks like alum. or silver. Every try results in a grey tint.
Any formulas or what colors mixed together will = the correct color for a p51

RE: latex paint color
have tried that at local paint stores. Their reply is no latex paint will show as a alum or silver. I'm trying for a worn look on the p51
I know I'm doing something wrong in my presentation to the paint store. What we have here is a lack of.......
Maybe I should give up and go for the auto. paint

RE: latex paint color
Found it!! A new Behr product- Latex Metallic Silver already packaged and ready to go.
Located in accent section of paint dept. Home Dep. New Product and perfect. Actually, added small amt of black to tone down the metallic shine.

Congratulations. Sounds like you hit on the head.
FWIW- Duro brand silver (auto section of Wallyworld), 11 oz for $4, is an almost perfect match for SolarTex Silver/Aluminum and quite close for Coverite silver/aluminum fabrics. The paint is also fuel RESISTANT to 10% nitro (for sure) maybe higher.
