Default carb. leaking fuel ....tank too high?

i have a ryan sta 1.20 size. it has an inverted 90 sized two stroke on it. the problem is, that the fuel keeps running out of the carb. i am thinking that the fuel tank is mounted too high(although everything was done according to instructions). i really dont want to lower the tank, as this will entail alot of modifications. will installing a perry pump solve this problem. thanks for any help.

It sure sounds like the tank can be lowered.
Or keep the nose up when on the ground and not flying.
I have no experience with the Perry so can't help there.

Shouldn't be a problem. Fuel will syphon anytime the fuel's level is higher than the carb. If the tank sits so that it is midway level with the carb, it will syphon when full, but not with 1/2 tank or less.

Just don't fuel up until you're ready to fly.

Is it the GP 1.20 Ryan STA arf ?

If so lowering the tank is quite simple and should solve your problem.
It's a real easy fix.

It seems that very few of the ARF's ever get the tank location correct, but that's
why their called ARF. (All Ready to Fix)

I'm putting my GP Ryan STA-M together now. One of the first things I did was to cut out the supplied gas tank lite-ply floor, which is clearly too high for my 120 4C mounted inverted, and then make and install a new lower gas tank floor. It's a couple of hours of work but I think necessary to avoid siphoning and to get a better running motor, especially since its inverted.

I looked at my STA last night . couldn't see much because of all the foam
and equipment. It appears that Touch and Go and I did almost the same mod.
I say almost because I didn't replace the tank floor. I just removed it and used
the supplied tank in the lower position.

Hope this helps at least a little
