Lost important part, need help
I was working on my Herr J3 Cub last night, trying to attach the throttle cable. I have a Du-Bro "20 Throttle cable assembly. For attaching it to the throttle arm they have an e/z connector, which consists of a screw, pin, and a very small black plastic piece. The pin goes through the throttle arm, and is snapped on by the little plastic piece. Well while trying to attach it last night, it went sailing 4 times. Found it the first 3. I searched everywhere on the floor last night, and this morning, and can't find it. If any of you know what part I'm talking about, I have a couple of questions. I don't suppose LHS's carry these tiny black "frisbee's" as spares. If not, what else can I use? Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks very much!
Joe

I found it! It was all the way underneath a trunk. Now any good ideas on how to attach these little doughnuts, b4 I send it sailing across the room again?

I have a funky pair of pliers in which the jaws are parallel. I get the little washer just stuck on and gently squeeze it down. You can do it with regular pliers if you are careful. Then I use an XActo knife to gently pull it up if I need to remove it.

Thanks! Last night I was trying with needle nose pliers. I guess I just need to try & be more careful. I do have ball link pliers, so I might give those a shot too.
Thanks for the tip on how to remove them too

what i do to get those on: if you use a wood table to work on and you dont care about the table, just put the stem of the link centered over the hole, against the table top, hold the link with pliers and take the blunt end of a screw driver and smack it. the stem will make a hole in the table, but the washer with the hole wont move, and it will be on there nice and tight. now i just use the same place over and over so i dont make new holes.

I use the Sullivan ball clip with the spring for attaching to throttles; it's a quick disconnect for convenience...works FANTASTIC!
