Which rubberized CA is best ?
There are probably a few in the market now :
1) Pacer Flex Zap
2) NHP Black Flash
3) Bob Smith IC2000
4) Bob Smith Instaflex+
I will appreciate some feedback on the performance and shelf life of these rubberized CA. I'm using them for a variety of applications such as gluing threaded rods into CF tubes, etc. Thanks !

RE: Which rubberized CA is best ?
RAJUL,
I've only used NHP Black Flash, but have had no problems with it. I built my CF push rods over two years ago and everything is still holding well.
The shelf life on my particular bottle wasn't long. I think I had it about 6 months before it thickened too much to use. This may have been an old bottle to start with. Hub Hobby (local shop) doesn't clear their old stuff off the shelf. I also got burned on two bottles of Bob Smith CA bought from Hub. I don't shop there at all any more.

I have used a couple of those listed, and have not noticed any difference.
The shelf life of the black stuff is definately shorter than the clear. Not sure why, but it just seems to thicken up quickly so I stopped buying it and started using either JB Weld or Epoxy for my CF pushrods.

There is rubberized CA? What would you use it for? Instant RTV replacement? Having momentary problems remembering acronyms, what is a CF tube.

RE: Which rubberized CA is best ?
I have a bottle of thin Instaflex that I use for CA hinges. Supposedly the rubberized CA's help keep the hinges from getting brittle, or at least allow them to be more flexible after installation. So far so good on mine. I noticed I didn't have to flex the control surfaces as much, to work them in after installation. I've also used the Instaflex on wood dowel push rods, and reinforcement. No complaints.
I think I've had my bottle for almost 6 months. Still clear and runny.

Hugh, it is less brittle and more shock resistant compared to std CA

The CF rod that runs the length of my Burrito fuselage gets lots of shock.[:@]
The Pacer Flex CA I used to attach the fuse to the CF rod has held up great so far, but have not used it enough to award it the official Barney Fife seal of approval.

Eric, my LHS called me to tell me that they can't deliver my order of Pacer Flex Zap because all the bottles on their shelf have hardened in less than 3-4 months. They are "waiting" for Pacer to sort this out before they order again. What a bummer
