I have given up trying to weigh planes on the bathroom scale and would like to be able to check the weight a bit more accurately. So how are you doing it?

I use a fish scale, they come in all prices, I guess the more expensive, the more precise

I have a digital postage scale. It has a good range (I forget the max, but it's big enough to handle .40-.60 planes at least) and accurate to 1/4oz, which is good enough for what I'm doing.

I have an antique balance-beam postal scale. It weighs up to 100 lbs. in 1 oz. increments. Close enough for what I want to know. I don't think I'll be building any 100 lbs. planes any time soon!

I use a balance beam baby scale and it is good to about 45 lbs. You can weigh accurately to about an ounce - good enough for me. You can find them cheap at garage sales.

Stand on the bathroom scale with and without plane. After 150 lbs I think the scale is more accurate in increments.

I have a digital postal scale that can handle up to 10 lbs. If my plane appears to weigh more than 10 lbs., then I weigh the wing and the fuse separately and add them.

I use the animal scale the Vet my wife is working at. Since she is a Vet there I can pretty much get away with it. Trouble though is going to be when I try to weigh my new Cub with the 90 inch wing......space to get to the scale could be an issue.

A 50 lb. fishing scale you can pick up at a local hardware store.

Ultraship 30 and 50 are good digital scales that you can buy online. Many people in this forum have one and for me I couldn't live without it. It's on E+Bay and it's item # 5522163486. I ordered a 30 lb one and they accidently sent me a 50# one. Sweet huh?

Ultraship 50 here. Weighs in grams, oz, etc. Is accurate to 1/10th of an ounce. Love it.

Lucky me, I was able to pick up the new 75 lb. version for $39.

Should be noted that 0.1 oz accuracy is for low range only (up to 2 lb.); over that, it's 0.5 oz accuracy. This is a very good blend.
