Chipmunk
Hi all,
I have a question with regards to the chipmunk. I would like to know what the differences are between the Pepsi Chipmunk and the Super Chipmunk. Are there any or is it just the graphics? Any info will be appreciated.
thanks

Differences?
Which Super Chipmunk do you want to compare it to?
There are (or were) many different Super Chipmunks and all where custom built. Everyone is different.
Most likely you are thinking of the Super Chipmunk that Art Scholl flew with the opposed engine and fixed gear. If so, the big differences would be the cowl, wing tips and rudder. Also keep in mind that it has a tandem cockpit--the CGM Super Chipmunk has a single place cockpit.
As far as I can tell, Art Scholl had three Super Chipmunks. See following replies for pictures.

Chipmunk
Hi Bruiser,
Thanks for the pic. I actually noticed that the rudder on the Pepsi Chipmunk is different than the Super. I cannot ascertain the throw on the elvator due to the rudder clearance. The original chipmunk trainer seems to have very limited clearance compared to the Pepsi. Is this clearance the smae on the PEpsi and Super ?

Differences
Here is his second airplane. It was highly modified over his first one with a 260 hp opposed engine, retractible gear, and no flaps
Oh, it also had a single cockpit, like in the CGM kit.

Here is the third Super Chipmunk with an earlier paint scheme than what most people use... This one has the opposed engine, but no retracts and it does have flaps.
Oh, back to a dual cockpit again as well...

Rudder/Elevator Differences
Looking at the different pictures I have, I believe the bottom of the rudder was angled up a little more on the Pepsi Skydancer then on Art Scholl's 2nd or 3rd Super Chipmunk.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for all the pics. I think I am really after the Pepsi Skydancer. I like this to my sunday-type laid back aerobatics. Appreciate the pics and the info.
