I am building a Page Gee Bee R-2, and plane to cover it with a White iron-on film, and then paint all the red trim. What covering will be the easiest to prep, paint, and will hold the paint well?

Sorry but I don't have an answer for you... I would like an answer to this question too since I'm planning on doing the same as you.

I would imagine that the covering material should have some sort of texture.

Bo.

"UltraCote will accept most types of polyurethene, epoxy, and automotive acrylic paints. I's recommended that the surface be scuffed with 000 steel wool or Scotch Brite pads and then thoroughly cleaned with acetone or thinner before painting. Model Dope or butyrate-based paints are not compatiible with UltraCote." Quote from UltraCote literature. I hope that helps you.

I have painted Ultracote with 21st Century paint with excellent results, and painted it with Krylon paint with a coat of Polyurethane for fuel proofing, also excellent results
