HOW do you identify different film coverings???
It probably takes a scientific genius BUT, does anyone know of methods to identify the types of film coverings? Is it Monokote, Ultracote, or ?????. Which covering can be used on other brands? Etc. Thanks for your responses. Richard

RE: HOW do you identify different film coverings???
Hi!
Monokote is more glossy than Oracover (Ultarcote in the US).
Oracover more resembles a painted surface...semi gloss. Monokote a looks like shiny plastic and is stiffer...and smells diferent.....
Oracover is tougher, more pliable and could take more heat. It also sticks to itself more easily and when you have fasten it.... it could be removed without ruin the colour surface on the film.
Both of these models are covered in Oracover.

Monokote wrinkles (sags) faster / more than Ultra... Monokote also is thicker, and results in 'eye catching' seams. (My opinion)
Also, look at the backing, if still on a roll. Ultra has a waxy paper that is easy to removed. Mono has a plastic film that is next to impossible to remove.
