Zip ties and glow fuel. Are ties affected?
I was thinking of using a zip tie as a clamp to secure the fuel line to the clunk inside the tank. Will they work, or should I stick with the stainless steel wire that came with the clunk? I have tons of ties, but don't want to use them till I know they won't dissolve over time.

Yeah, plastic ties are forever, but they don't make a circular load on the hose. That little corner where the clamp is can leave a little spot for the tubing to unload.
I bought som 0.020 stainless wire from Ace Hardware, a palm sized roll in a little plastic doughnut case. I take about 4", wrap twice, then twist the rest with a visegrips until it's all neatly twisted, down to the hose, without indenting it more than about the thickness of the wire. Then I snip the excess wire (all but about 2 or 3 twists) and leave it.
Good luck,
Dave Olson

I use nothing but small cable ties for this application. I don't like using wire on the soft fuel line and taking a chance of cutting through it over time.

Hi!
Never use anything on my fuel hoses! Haven't done as long as I have flown...30 years..both sport and competing in Pylon racing, scale, and air combat.
As long as you use adequate size silicon tubing you don't need anything holding the hoses in place.
Regards!

zip ties work fine . just keep in mind anything in a fuel tank over time will eventually deteriorate. good reason to do a preseason check on your tanks .
