Question???? Will it fly fast??
Okay my son and I have slapped a Saito 72 on his 4 lb plane, including the engine. What are your comments?
Will it fly fast?
Will it fly at all?

RE: Question???? Will it fly fast??
As MinnFlyer stated, it will fly as long as it's balanced correctly. I have to ask though, why such an engine on that type of plane? It's extra weight that will most likely hurt the performance. The prop to ground clearance looks very close also. Just a word of advice on the fuel lines, don't let 'em touch that metal motor mount, it'll wear through them pretty quickly.

RE: Question???? Will it fly fast??
Welllllllll I guess there isn't a good reason other than the engine was available and the plane had a 46LA on it and we just thought it would be fun to do it and take some movies ......plans are to rebend the landing gear to allow for more clearance balance it and have some great laughs at the field..should have some grown men giggling like kids...
Besides any time spent with your son can't be wasted..
My original idea was to install a Quadra 35 on it now that would have been a real hoot!!!

RE: Question???? Will it fly fast??
It won't be slow if it is proped correctly, but it won't be blindingly fast either. It is not a very clean machine & it looks like the wings are fairly thick, although I'm sure that it will be quick enough to be lots of fun.

RE: Question???? Will it fly fast??
My thought exactly britbrat. The thick airfoil will prevent it from being trerribly fast no matter how big the engine or how high pitched the prop. Eventually the drag will over come speed increases and high pitched prop prop will stall.
Doesn't drag increase exponentially with speed or something?

RE: Question???? Will it fly fast??
I have an OS FL-70 on a Dazzler Arf & I love it. Seems similar
with the thick wing. I don't get unlimited verticals, but good enough
for a big smile & extended laughter (from me!) the whole time it's
in the air! So far, the most pure fun I have had with an RC plane!
Good Luck!
