Default RE: Great Planes F-14

Mine was powered by a Super Tigre S-61K and it flew it very well. When you pick your engine you want one that is pumped and can turn lots of RPM's and a reliable idle. You want the rpm's with a high pitched prop for speed. Without a reliable idle you wont have it long.

take offs are long with the tank in the position shown on the plans (off grass). with the pump you can move the tank back to the cg making rotation much easier. Also the rudder is very effective so neutralize it before rotation.

landing remember, attitude (elevator) controls speed, throttle controls rate of decent. If you think your landings are hot hot hot your not pulling the nose up on final soon enough.

good luck, its lots of fun just don't expect it to do well in stall manuvers
