Default What small desk top disk sander do you use??

I've saw a few small disk sander on ebay for modeling but cant seem to find the rite one. The delta 4" combo disk - belt's ok. But to big to work rite next to while cutting and sanding wing and tail feather parts.

Something small you can set rite next to you for makeing small angle cuts and just touch to get the rite length. Where and what is it ???

I just use sanding blocks and a small miter box w/razor saw. I have a Craftsman belt/disk sander but never use it on balsa. Somebody makes a small hand-operated angle cutting tool. I don't know how good it works.

Tim, 29.99 not bad...... very much like what Im looking for. It looks small enough too. I would have to hook a foot pedel up to it for

ON - OFF. I would'nt want it running in my ear all the time and I could fire it up as needed and keep both hands on my work and not be fliping the switch back and forth.........Yep. Yep this just mite work, I'll have to check it out in person. Thanks Tim

I've got several electric sanders in the shop but never use them for adjusting the length of balsa. If I need to shorten something I've already cut, I put the straight edge on it and use a knife. You can shave off remarkably small amounts this way. In fact, I rarely use any of my power tools, other than the scroll saw and band saw, when working with balsa, it's too soft.

We have a local Harbor Freight here. If the cost on the website is lower than in the store, you may get the lower cost.[8D]

Fourmost does make some good hand tools. But they don't offer anything powered. I have their miter cut, miter saw and miter sander and have been very pleased with the quality of my cuts. Great for build those built-up stick fuselages. I also have a Delta 9" band saw and 8" disk sander which I use for those big cuts. A real time saver and if used properly will cut very nicely. Here's a couple of pictures of my BTE Flying King that I built using their tools.

Cheers
