What Diameter Wing Tube to Use?
I want to modify a 40 size Uproar kit for plug in wings to use as a travel plane. What diameter wing tube would be substantial enough for aerobatics? I think the 60 size uses a 1" tube- thought 1/2-5/8" would work but would like to get an opion from someone with plug in wing experience. Thanks.

Well, the Sig SE has an 18mm tube (just under 3/4 inch) that is 36cm long. The SE is comparable in size to the .40 Uproar. Just make sure it is hardened aluminum.

Stickjammer-thanks for the info-think I will use 3/4" just to be on safe side. Gator RC is only source I have for wing tubes-they have a minimum order so one tube and sleeve is pricey for a throw around plane-have some 3/4" aluminum seamless tubing but it is not hardened aluminum.
