Clearcoat on Primer for fiberglass.
I am in the process of laying a primer coat on my fiberglass on my E-2C Hawkeye. Since the primer is the same color I would have painted it, can I shoot it with clearcoat without any problems? Or do I have to prime, paint, then clearcoat? The first pic is of my Radome and mount pylon. The second, is of the paint scheme I want to use.
Any thoughts/comments will be appreciated.

You can clear coat the primer.
I would suggest shooting a color coat (even if it is the same color ), then clear coating it.
As far as I know, primers do not have anything in them to retard color changing from UV light, where the paints typically have additives to make the paint harder than the primer and also have additives to protect against UV.

OK, I wasn't sure. I will shoot a color in addition to the primer. I didn't think about the UV aspect paint.
THanks
