Default Spring Loaded Hinges?

I am looking for spring loaded hinges for inner gear doors and no luck so far.

I was told to check Sonic tronics website, but did not see them.

Any advise would be great.

Thanks

Hello!
Sorry! But I don't think there are such things as "spring controlled hinges". You have to make the gear doors work yourself.
Regards!

SonicTronics has hinges with arms provided so that you can add your own spring.

Sonic tronics has a tri gear door hinge set that includes some small springs and anchor points. I have used the Sonic tronics hidden hinges several times as spring loaded hinges to hold the gear doors open. I removing the hinge pivots and run a piece of music wire through all the hinges on each door. I then bend the music wire extending past the last outermost hinges in such a way that the doors are held open by wire. The doors are pulled shut by the landing gear which torque (twists) the music wire, when the gear is extended the wire will return to its normal relaxed state that holds the door open.

I did something similar, but used the BVM offset hinges, which don't really lend themselves to the music wire method, due to the shape of the holes, keyed for "follower hinge".

I used rubber bands. See http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/Full...2711949/tm.htm

Thanks for all the help! i like to low low low cost method.
I am trying to incorporate that fro a T-28 inner gear door. but they are so close together that I am looking at it a lot to see how to set it up.
I also need to door the nose gear doors (3) THAT IS A CHALENGE SINCE I AM NOT USING AIR TO CLOSE THE DOORS!

Thats why RCU is great in these situations

I noticed that Sonic Tronics also just sells some spring loaded hinges which is what you're looking for. This appears to be a new item from them. Here is the link:

Looks like the spring loaded hinge would be the way to go. I have used the springs pictured for doors. It is easy to make your own too, just takes a bit of practice.

Not new. Those are the ones I was thinking of.
