Canopy question
I have a kit that has a clear canopy. Picture on the box shows a tinted canopy, looks nice that way.
I see many re-building planes that origanally had clear canopies tinting the canopy for the new build.
I did a search and did not find. Whats the trick? I have ideas but.....
Thanks
Michael

RE: Canopy question
I always got that paint from the crafts department at wal-mart. The little kits with glass or plastic art sceens you hang up by a window, they have transparent paints in them and work very well. Paint the inside with the paint provided. A little vege I just can't remeber what there called

RE: Canopy question
Check this thread:
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_28...tm.htm#2872315
There are primary two (2) accepted methods of tinting; the Rit dye method and the spray tint method. Both of these are discussed and detailed in that thread.
Good luck,

RE: Canopy question
Thanks again.
I have full confidence that my 2 projects will end with a tinted canopy now. Might tint some of the others if its fun.
Thanks all,
Michael Blue

RE: Canopy question
You have to make sure you know what the canopy is made of. If it's PVC, it won't take the dye. Then you will need the canopy tinting paint. Best thing is to experiment with a little piece of it before you actually do it (with dye or paint).
I think the stuff that will take the dye is the poly carbonate plastic (not sure if that's the exact name but the guy from Kangke told me that at a expo).
