Hey Modelers,

I will soon start my Tower Hobbies .60-size uproar, and in the box is an aluminum wing tube that weighs about one metric ton...give or take an ounce

Anyway, I'd like to shave off some weight and purchase a carbon fiber wing tube to replace the lead club that came with the kit. After feeling the heft, or lack of heft, of the carbon fiber wing tube in a fellow club member's giant scale airplane (it had no discernible weight in my hands), I decided this is the way to go.

Any info would be appreciated!!!

Hi,

Ooops, I should have been more specific. I meant the kind of tube that goes through the fuselage and then goes through a left and a right wing panel (kinda like on the Sig Somethin' Extra).

Radio south sells carbon fiber wings tubes. also PAC precision aero composites has them also. i am not familiar with the uproar but if you are using screws in the aluminum wingtube to hold the wing halves on. DO NOT screw directly into the carbon fiber tube you need to put something in the tube to thread into not the carbon fiber.
