Default canopy glue?

I am ready to glue in place plastic buble-canopy. In the past I used acetone based balsa cement. The area where the canopy contacted fuselage was only painted balsa wood. This time the fuse is monocoated. Would the same glue be a good choice? Thanks for advice! Pajda

Default canopy glue?

They make a glue just for canopy's and it dries clear and thats what you should use. It sticks to just about everything and you clean up with just a bit of wet towel, Its also fuel proof so you will like it plus it looks good not to have screws sticking out of the side to hold it on, like H9 likes you to use.

Default canopy glue?

I agree the canopy glues (rc56, 560) are good, but a little thin. I tested a scrap plastic with Weldbond and it is thicker to apply, dries clear and seemed really strong so I will be using it until I find something wrong with it.

My experience with Welbond is that it will soften if exposed to glow fuel. I have also experienced the same with RC56, but to a lesser degree. Zap A Dap A Goo is an excellent permanent canopy glue.

RC-56 for most apps.... I also sometimes use GE Silicone adhesive (clear). I've used that stuff on things up to Giant scale with no problems.
