Default n anyone help

Hi, can anyone help, i've got a spitfire with mechanical retracks and i've been told to run a seperate batt for them as the rx batt can be run flat by them? How is this wired up?????????

I have flown several pattern planes with mechanical retracts. The battery drain that you are being warned about is when the servo hangs up. If it never hangs up the current draw is the same as any servo. I have never used a seperate battery pack.

But if you wanted to add a second battery, I would add it to the receiver with a seperate switch, that way you are getting more protection.

I too have never run a seperate pack for retracts. Your friend is being overly concerned.

I've got to agree with the other 2 above. I've always ran retracts off of the same pack as the receiver is on.

just like any other servo... at each end of travel, make sure the servo is not humming (i.e., it doesn't get hung up). No humming = no current draw
