I posted this in the giantscaleand didnt get any replys, I have a 3w ultimate and would like to install the ele. servos inside the fuse and use a bellcrank or somthing to controll the elevators. I have a couple of ideas but was wondering if anyone could help with this setup. I really don't want to put the servos in the side of the fuse.

Thanks in advance
Fred

How about a pull-pull setup or mounting the servos in the stabs. I'm not that familiar with the model, I assume it has an airfoiled tail? Any reason you don't want to mount them in the side of the fuse?

The plane is a glass fuse and there is not enough room in the stab as it is a flat stab. I can mount the servos in the side of the fuse, I just wanted to try and keep the wieght more in the center of the plane and hide some of the radio gear.
Thanks for the reply

Don't hesitate to use 2 fibre glass or carbon fibre pushrods the same as you would on a smaller planes. I still use them on 1/4 scale. No problems.

Default BELLCRANK

I looked at this setup, but I was not sure it would handle the load.
What size is your edge, my ultimate is 44%
Thanks for the reply

Hi Derf-54,it's the AW 90,guessing 23-24%,never seen this used on any thing else, not much help, on another plane have carbon fiber rods to each half and servos under wing, also braced rods every 6".
Have a goodun,John.

The lanier monster stinger has a flat stab and I believe they have the servo's installed laying down in the stab. They are mounted in a tray. If you go to www.lanierrc.com you can download a manual for this plane and they explain how to mount servo's in a flat stab. I doubt the bellcrank sold by central hobbies can handle the load of a plane this big.
