Something happened, but I don't know what
Here's the lowdown:
Super Tigre .90 mounted in a Sig 3D Mayhem for half a year now.
This engine is 6 years old but sat dormant for 3 of the 6 years.
It has been as reliable as a framing hammer.
I've never touched the needle setting for anything, regardless of any temperature, humidity, etc.
Like I said, as reliable as they come.
So I was flying the other day, doing a power-off dive.
I pulled up hard, gave it the gas, and it died like someone flipped a kill switch.
Dead-sticked back in with no drama.
The engine refuses to light up unless I squirt fuel directly into the carb (I've NEVER had to do this)
And then it will run WFO or not at all.
It does not appear to be drawing any fuel from the tank, but why is a mystery.
The clunk is ok, I can see it's still attached.
Traded a few glow plugs, but no dice.
What would cause it to run full throttle but not mid or idle?
My engines have all been so reliable that I freely admit I'm an amature at tuning them.
Thoughts?

If you did not replace the plumbing in the tank (and/or possibly the tank) chances are it has deteriated and pieces have plugged the line or carb somewhere.

Super Tigre plumbing plugs perfectly pending passing time.
Clean out everything.. from the clunk in the tank to the orifice in the needle valve body.

it does not take much to mess up a carb a piece of hair a speck of dirt is all it tkes to disrupt the spray, try to use a blow gun to reverse blow the spray bar, usually the dirt hangs in the hole and can not pass thru you can also try a pipe cleaner to clean the inside of the spray bay,it acts like a bristle brush to remove any debris the air blow it out again in reverse

RE: Something happened, but I don't know what
Thanks for the replies, you guys.
The plumbing and tank are all (relatively) new, they came with the Mayhem half a year ago.
Only the engine is pre-uesed.
You guys were on target with the carb.
I found a "loaner" SuperTigre .90 in a box of stuff, and swapped carbs between the two.
Took the plane out to the driveway and it ran "business as usual" from the get-go.
So something must have happened with the original carb.
Now it's just a matter of determining "what" that "something" is/was.
Thanks.
