Default homemade engine test stand?

I am needing a test stand for engines from .25 to .90 sized. The ones I have seen for sale are really expensive. Anyone have plans for building one?

I have a bizarre-looking test stand for my .40-.60 engines... it's an old shoe-shine box with an adjustable engine mount screwed on one end and a fuel tank on top. I put four bricks inside it for weight. Portable and effective!

When I needed to break in larger engines, I finally gave in and purchased a nice J'Tec adjustable stand, which I bolted to a one-foot-square piece of 3/4" plywood. I use a pair of C-clamps to secure it to a deck railing for use. The only thing I wish I had done was cover the plywood with Formica before I mounted the stand. Fuel-proof paint would be good enough....

Good flying,
