Default trimming a Tru-turn spinner?

What is the best way to enlarge the slots in an aluminum spinner to fit larger props? I need to fit a 15/6 APC in a 2-1/2" standard Tru-turn. Is it important to remove exactlly the same amount from each side for balance? Thanks. Randy

Default spinners

The best way is to make a template and use it as a guide when enlarging prop cutouts......and then rebalanced the spinner.

I use a dremmel to do the cutting.

Regards
Mark

Default trimming a Tru-turn spinner?

I have used the "barrell" shaped dremel bit.... the one that has the S shaped cutting ribs on the side of a cylinder shaped tip. Sorry, I don't have the part number. I have just eyeballed it, taking great care to cut the same amount from each side.

Default trimming a Tru-turn spinner?

Just custom order it from tru-turn. They will cut it that way for a few extra bucks (between 5-9, but don't remember at the moment).
