Moved from Michigan (Farmington Hills) about 6 months ago and flew there for a good number of years. While various local municipalities and parks have regulations, I am not aware of any state laws regulating model flying.
Strongly suggest that you join AMA and a local club so that you have insurance and a spot to safely fly as well as a source of information such as this.

Yes, wheneve flying in Michigan, you must wear some type of green clothing, preferably with the letter "S" on it.
