Default c.g. on gee bee - y.

Hi I was given a older air frame, appears to be a gee bee-y. It has a 73''wing and a 48'' fuse from cowl to rudder. I purchased a super tigre 20/23 ( 1.4cu.in. ) for it. I need to figure the c.g. help!

Default RE: c.g. on gee bee - y.

I have the plans for the GeeBee "Y" model also referred to as the Senior Sportster that has a 72" wing span. Mine was drawn by the guy who is probably the foremost expert on the Granville Brothers and their airplanes. His name is Henry Haffke. His plans for the "Y" model were featured in a 2 part article in the AMA Magazine (Model Aviation) on March and April 1988. Those plans are still available from the AMA. On those plans, the balance point is approximately 3 1/4" behind the leading edge.
