Drill or bevel first for Robart Hinge points?
I'm just curious what people have found to be an easier sequence of events. Did you drill your hinge point hole prior to beveling the control surface, or bevel it and then drill for the hinge? I've always beveled first for normal CA hinges, but this is my first time with hinge points and figured it might be a little difficult to drill a centered hole with the surfaces already beveled. Thanks.

I alway drill for hinge points or slot for slab hinges before I bevel anything. It's much easier to find the true center of a surface if it's flat. Then you'll have a guide for beveling and your hinge points/hinges will be perfectly centered.

I always use a drill guide - either commercial, or home-made when drilling. It makes the bevel a moot point.

This pic shows the aforementioned guide. Very simple, really, I can hinge an airplane in minutes with it. Mark the holes, drill, grind out hinge area with dremel cone, bevel, ready to cover.

Drill hinge holes first in my experience seems to work best when using the Robart drill guide. The issue is that after you bevel, the drill guide takes some checking to verify it is perpendicular to the surface. This can slightly shift the center of the hole. It's no big deal as you can easily check the perpendicular alignment of the jig visually before you drill. But, if you drill before you bevel, you'll have a nice flat surface for the bottom of the guide to rest on. Honestly, the issue is minor IMO. I've done it both ways, and even free hand without the jig. All work. But it does seem to be easiest to jig and drill before bevel... at least for me.

i've found that even with a guide you can be off so i drill or cut then bevel.
