Paint Suggestions for Inside Canopies?
Hi folks,
If this has been discussed already please just direct me to the proper thread. Basically, I am looking for suggestions on the best paint to use for the "framework" inside of my plastic canopy. I guess polyurethane would work, but I thought I would ask the experts first. Thanks.

Since the canopy is made out of plastic, hobby paints for plastic model would work best. I get the best results with Model Masters Acryl, and I do paint inside the canopy myself. If the canopy is made out of lexan, then I would use paints formulated for lexan RC car body, although Model Master Acryl would still stick very well to lexan.

RE: Paint Suggestions for Inside Canopies?
Hi Richard, Rob;
Thanks for the input. I was looking at that paint in my LHS, but I wasn't sure if it would be fuel proof if a bit (of fuel) worked it's way inside. Can I use this paint as is or do I need to overcoat with a sealer?

Model Masters Acryl is pretty fuel resistant. However, it's not fuel proof so you can overcoat it with a sealer if you wish. I don't think you will get much fuel inside your canopy if it's sealed good around the edges and if your muffler is pointing down.

I know the Pactra r/c car body paints are glow fuel proof. The same paint is used on electric and glow fuel cars. Don't know about gas planes though.
