Default Radio compatibility

If the transmitter and receiver are on the same shift, are different manufacturer's receivers compatable with another manufacturer's transmitter? Specifically JR and Airtronics.

You can set up your airtronics receiver so that you can operate it with your JR (or Multiplex) radio.

However, you have to make sure you plug the servos in the correct slot. #1 is not always ailerons, for example.

If the receiver is a PCM item, there's a problem. Good luck,

Reverse the equipment; Airtronics VG6000 Transmitter and JR RS600 and/or R700 receiver both FM or PPM. Where the servos plug in makes no differance to me as I would sort that out on my own. I understand the servos of all makes are compatable, excepting the Z vs J plug configuration.

Default RE: Radio compatibility

In general JR receivers are compatible with Airtronics transmitters. A couple of guys in our club use JR and Airtronics equipment together and have never had problems.

That said, I don't think JR or Airtronics would guarantee compatibility with the other brand. I remember reading about issues between specific Futaba transmitters with synthesized RF modules having problems communicating with specific Berg, Hitec, and possibly other receivers. Futaba's reply on one of the threads was that they only guarantee compatibility with Futaba receivers. I'd guess Airtronics and JR would take the same position if the same issue was presented to them.
