Default 3-1/2" 3-Blade Red Spinners for a P-51???

Any body know where to get a 3-1/2", 3-Blade, Red Spinners for a .60 size P-51? No one seems to have these. Even a spinner without cuts would be fine. I don't really want an aluminum spinner, mainly because I don't want to spend $50 or more. A nylon spinner with aluminum back plate would be just fine.

Thanks

Why do you need a 3-blade spinner for a Mustang. Only the very first A models had 3 blade propellers.

Yep, only the early P-51A model, powered by the Allison engine, had 3-blade props. The later variant swing 4-blade props. If you try to swing a 3-blade on the "D" version, people will look at you funny. I would either swing a 4-blade or stick with a 2-blade (since it's the norm), assuming you have a P-51D.

Well, I'm not doing it for scale appearance. Since this is my first warbird, I'm trying to tame the speed down. I'm using a .90 2c, so I have chosen a 12-6 3B as opposed to a 13-8 2B. Should give me better slow speed performance for take-off and landings, and a little less Power/thrust. I will change to a 2B after some stick time with the 3B. Most of the Hanger 9 trainers are 3B. Does this make sense?

So, any idea where to get a 3-1/2 red spinner (plastic with alum back plate). I can do the cut for the blade.

Thanks

If you are trying to tame the speed down, you can go with a larger diameter, lower pitched prop, such as a 15x4 2-blade on your .90 2c.

I got one for my H9 P51 from a local LHS but he has since closed shop. It is a P51 shaped spinner and was uncut. I believe it was from C&B spinners or something like that.

Here is the reply I got from Horizon Hobby. Very nice of him to take the time and reply with such detail:

Hi Andrew,

We do not currently have any Plastic Parabolic Spinners for this plane.
CBA went out of business and was purchased by K+B. K+B as yet to
produce the spinners under there name. You are able to back order the item,
however we do not have an accurate ETA on this item ( K+BCB5073 ).
Tru-Turn has announced they will be producing Anodized Aluminum Spinners in
red for the P-51's ( TRUTT3502BAR ). These are due to release mid
March.

Has far as a uncut spinners I am not aware of any in plastic.

Please let me know how we may further assist you.

Thank you and have a great day,
Brett

Default RE: 3-1/2

Guys,  I have a query to send and would like to hear your feedback.  Ihave a World Model P51 Mustang size 46.  Engine is OS 55AX 2-stroke.
I installed a Tru-turn spinner 3" and a 3-blade 13x8 propeller.

Is this alright or am I going to kill my engine?

Anybody try 11x8 3-blade on P51 size 46 ?

Thanks in advance.
