When the 12v won't turn it, I usually jumper a second battery to my starter jacks in series for 24v. It really kicks but that way. You don't necessarily need a 24v capable starter. Just don't run a 12v for long periods. A friend in our club does this regularly and his 12v starter still works great.

Where can I find a blow-up view of the Kavan starter? I need to replace the brushes. Tx all.
