TIMING OS 91 SURPASS
I have recently had to rebearing an OS 91 SURPASS . Now I need to know how to line up the crank and cam shafts.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Also what is the clearance for the valves?
Thanks

RE: TIMING OS 91 SURPASS
I am pretty sure there are timing marks on the thrust washer, and the camshaft. When the dots are at the top, the engine is set up correctly.
If I'm wrong, you may want to post on the engine manufacturer's page.

RE: TIMING OS 91 SURPASS
Dirtdogo4, to time your o.s. ,
there is a little "t" like mark on the thrust
washer. Set this at top dead center-line it up with
casting mark on crankcase. There is a dot stamped on cam,
this faces out. With crank at top dead center, line up dot on cam
with the metal boss under cam. If set right, intake valve should
begin to open when piston starts it's down stroke. Set both valves
cold @ .04".
