Nose Gear Brake
Anyone know where I can find a nose gear with a brake for a Sig Senior? I'm going to bash the kit and make a twin and thought the brake would be a good touch.
At one time I believe that Fults made a forked gear with a fender that acted as a brake but I can't find a listing anymore.
Any help would be appreciated.

Nose gear brake
It depends on whether you just want a brake or something that looks scale/correct.
I put a nose wheel brake on a Sig Kougar by mounting a bellcrank with a control horn screwed to it.
I soldered a little piece of 4-40 steel pushrod to the nose gear with a 90 degree bend right above the wheel.
It was actuated by down elevator through a pushrod linked to a second bellcrank in the front behind the firewall (in the belly of the plane).
The internal bellcrank was attached to the elevator servo.
When you land, you apply down elevator and the "shoe pad" control horn, pushes down on the forward top side of the nose wheel to create the braking action.
It worked great, I could stop that plane on a dime and give you 9 cents change. Just don't hit the brake so hard that you lock up the wheel and give yourself a ground loop!
It took some really jerry-rigging, but it will work.

nose wheel brake
Sorry gang,
That plane met it's demise in Spring 01 when I ran a weak batch of fuel on a previously moth-balled engine...it died and the nose gear is buried somewhere in a swamp.
I'll see about working up a drawing, then saving it to this post ..might be a couple of days.

electric brake
FYI:
Hobby Lobby sells an electric brake that works from a separate 9v battery. About $35.00 or so. I have one but have not installed it yet. Thinking of putting it on my Delta Vortax.
