Hitec trainer system won't operate
I have a new HiTec Flash 5 radio that I want to use as the master radio, and I am trying to use my new HiTec Laser 4 radio for the student radio. I am using HiTecs official trainer cord. When I turn on the master radio (Flash 5) nothing happens after pulling on the trainer switch. No movement at all on the plane. I have used a buddie/trainer system in the past using two Futaba Gold case radios and it worked perfectly. Why won't this HiTec dual system work? Is it because the Flash 5 radio is digital and maybe the Laser 4 is not digital? Please help! Thanks.

G'day Mate,
check if the buddy lead has a marking on it, to designate master & slave on the end of the lead, I think that is how the Hitech system works, unlike JR or Futaba which uses software inside the TX to differenciate master & slave.

RE: Hitec trainer system won't operate
I have the Flash V I use with Futabas and it works great.
Take an Ohm Meter and check the cord to make sure everything is correct with it.
If all of the wires don't correspond go to the Hitec forum and ask questions there. Their techs are usually around.
Good Luck,
