Tower Hobbies Coupons and Discounts
Hi Everybody,
I have been watching Tower hobbies for past 4 months or so and notice that they have different discounts that change periodically. Up through today it was something like $20 off of purchases of $130 or more (I do not remember the exact numbers). Now it is $30 off a purchase of $225 and lower discounts for smaller purchases. In December I think that it was $30 off of $300. I am considering getting one of the Futaba 9C Synthesized freq. radios and wanted to figure out when the best time to buy is.
I would really like to know if the discount ever goes higher for larger purchases or if the highest I have seen ($30) is about as high as it gets. I am currently a member of their Super Saver Club. I would also like to know if there are any other "secrets" for getting any better discounts. Tower seems to have as good or better prices as any where else.
Any feedback would be very appreciated.
Tony

RE: Tower Hobbies Coupons and Discounts
I got Gold Preferred Savings emails from them the past couple of years (yup, blew big bucks), which were like this:
Total Purchase Amount off
$500.00-599.99 $50.00
$600.00-699.99 $60.00
$700.00-799.99 $70.00
$800.00-899.99 $80.00
$900.00-999.99 $90.00
$1000.00-1199.99 $120.00
$1200.00-1499.99 $145.00
$1500.00-1999.99 $180.00
$2000.00-2499.99 $250.00
$2500.00 or more $350.00
They can make their website pretty addicting. I'm just thankful that I only have three airplanes and one engine sitting unused due to these cost savings offers.

RE: Tower Hobbies Coupons and Discounts
Guys,
I have found that Tower Hobbies and my wallet have become good friends. I love their selection and service and usually buy something from them every couple of weeks ...
Now ... and this is where I may be treading into bad form/territory ...
But have we considered build a web page or a forum posting of the discounts available at Tower Hobbies? For example, last week I ordered an OS 46 LA. Great no problems ... except when I was later surfing a magazine (this months issue), I found that if I had entered a product code I would have gotten the OS 46 LA plus a $4 exhaust deflector for the same price.
Ok ... not a biggie ... but I see that the onus is on the sharp reader to find these things. Tower Hobbies don't go out of their way to automatically discount or offer specials unless YOU find them and enter their order codes.
Would anyone be interested in assisting to compile a list and keeping it current?
Neil

RE: Tower Hobbies Coupons and Discounts
I found this by searching for Tower Hobbies. Looks like someone already started a thread to track discount codes.

I've also found that Omnimodels.com offers competitive coupons and pricing with Tower, and there's no shipping on orders over a hundred bucks.
