Default Battery life on a glow plug starter

My glow plug starter (a Dynamite) is only lasting about 12 starts, is that normal? By the time I got done tuning, the darn thing was dead. Frustrating as heck.

Is there anyway to quick charge these? My wall charger need 10 hours!!!

this works pretty good

Since I've gone though a couple glo igniters I clipped the end off one of the old wall charger and soldered a deans connector on use my peak charger as well

A glow plug can draw as much as 3 amperes, usually about 1.5 amperes. Do the math, if you are using 1200 mah battery, you may only get about 20 minutes of power sufficient to start the engine. an older or smaller battery will give you much less.

The one I have seems to last a good while on a full charge.

My power panel on my field box has a glow plug charger. Its great, if the battery is dead a few minutes charge on the power panel and the drover is good for the rest of the day.

I bought another battery along with another starter that comes with a rechargable but accepts a standard AA just in case.

Thanks!
