Default Aerobatic suggestion for 91 4 stroke

I am looking for the best wing loading, best flying aerobatic airplane for an OS 91 4 stroke engine. I do not have a lot of experiance with this size plane, so I haven't got the foggiest idea which plane to go for. Tell me what you have and how well you like it.

Default Aerobatic suggestion for 91 4 stroke

Jeff,

Get the GP Extra300. This thing builds like a dream, and flys GREAT with a 91 4 stroke. Very light and agile!

Thanks Mike.

The only reason I am doing this is because I have the OS 91 FS EFI and can not sell it. So I figure I will just simply pu it on something.

I guess that something will be the Great Planes Extra 300. Do you think it is capable of very much 3D?

Well, I was able to hover mine with a YS91AC. I have since given the plane to my dad who put an OS 91 in it. It still flies great with unlimited vertical, But He doesn't do any 3-d stuff, and I have only seen it fly (not flown it myself) since I gave it to him.

If you can wait for one.... a U-Can-Do-3D is a very agile airplane, and is super with a .91 4c on it. And at $200 for a full 3-D ARF from Tower it's cheap.

2FAST,
Thanks for the tip. I am much more of a KIT builder. So I would prefer a kit vs ARF, BUT anything is possible.

If you have never owned one you need to - Goldberg Chipmunk.
Joy to build and one of the best flyers ever. That motor will really make it haul yet if you build it with flaps it will land like a trainer.

Check out the Doghouse Extreme - it is a fast building kit and RECOMMENDS a .91...Chip Hyde uses it to 'practice' 3-D stuff!

I might suggest a .60 size Morris Hobbies Su-D0-Koi. I have never had the 60 size, but I did fly the 40 size for a year. Great plane!

Default my suggestion

I'm building a Midwest Lil' Cap for an OS 91 four-stroke. Have seen many of these doing all kinds of maneuvers. The plane was designed by Mike McConvel and is an easy build, reasonable price and durable.

I second the Doghouse Extreme, I also recommend the GP Giles 202 kit, this might be better since it can fly knife edge unlike the stick design Doghouse.

Default Limited To Just One Wing?

I have a Magnum 91FS mounted on a Pica 1/5th Scale Bucker Jungmeister which counts as an aerobatic, right! It practically wrote the book! The combination is ideal, sounds realistic, the entire engine fits inside the cowl and flies it just fine. If you're into kit building, you'll like this one...lotsa sticks! But it sure looks and flies nice!

Default 4 Star 60

This Sig plane comes as a kit or an ARF. Great flier. IT will knife edge al day long and flat spin and I mean FLAT spin. If you build it light it should hover and torque roll.

You will find that your OS Surpass 91 is suitable to many airplanes! For 3D, keep your selection ubder 7 pounds (including engine) for sport & scale, up to 11 pounds is OK but will be sluggish take offs.

An Ultra Stick 60 with your engine is a fantastic combo! You may want to look at a GP Giles 202 as well....
