correcting downthurst
Hi! I flew my Seagull superstar for the first time yesterday, and to say that she has a bit too much downthrust would be an understatement. With the engine cut to idle after a level full throttle run, the plane pulled way up with elevators at full down trim. I was told that to correct this I need to put some washers under the 2 bottom engine bolts, but since the engine is mounted sideways, won't that just push the engine to the left or right instead of up or down?

Ummm........
I think they meant the bottom of the firewall, not the bottom of the engine.
Let us know how she flys when you get her dialed in. I am thinking about buying one.

RE: correcting downthurst
With some motor mounts its hard to add a certan degree of thrust for the motor with washers. Instead you can get the ernst thrust plates which work awsome. Comes with 3 plates, 1* 2* and 3* plates.
