Rounded wingtips on 4*60
Hi all!
I'm thinking of adding a thicker block of plywood to the wingtips, and then sanding the corners a bit.. to make the wingtips a bit rounded. I just don't them, flat, as they are originally.
My question is, since the tips will not be flat, is it going to be a problem to cover them later with Monokote?
On a stock version, you just put a piece on top of the flat tip... since this one will be rounded...how hard will it be to cover it nicely??

a pic
Here is a pic, to picture it better.....
my problem, is that i don't understand how the monokote will be smooth over the rounded parts?...it's sort of like covering a baseball with one piece of paper.. and having no folds or wrinkles in the paper...

ebeygin,
I bought a book called There Are no Secrets by Harry Higely. This is one of the topics he covers. Not affiliated with him in any way, but he goes through it in great detail.
MinnFlyer has essentially stated how it is done though. Hope this helps.

You're not going to be able to cover the tip in one piece. Make a small strip to go over your radius the long way around the tip. Try to shrink it as much as possible, and you still may need to make some cuts so the covering can overlap. From your drawing you still have a flat spot in the center of your tip. Cover that with one piece. Then I would cover the rest of the wing. A heat gun can help a lot, but you can also go too far and melt the covering.
