Balancing low wing models
what method should I use to balance a low wing model? Should I flip the plane over and then put it on the CG machine so the wing is on the top as if it were a high wing model, or is there another method I should use?

Its easy to do it this way: Mark the bottom or the side of the plane at the CG. Get a short peice of 4"pipe. Place the pipe on the table and put the plane on the pipe at the balance point. If it tip front or rear add weight or move parts to secure the balance you need. This system works at least as well as a CG machine. Every plane I own has been balance via this method. The long time modelers in Pattern, IMAA look down on the CG Machine from Tower. I fit the description and so did I until I tried one ! Easy and very accurate for initial set-up and adjustments as you close in on you personal preference. Worth every penny and yes you balance low wingers inverted --- you'll never make it right side up.
