Default Transmitter battery concern -volts drop fast

I charge and cycle my radio batteries on a regular basis , then I leave it on trickle charge .

When I go to use the radio I go from 11.1 Volts to 10.5 then 10.2 in under 30 miniutes even if I am breaking in an engine and place very littel stick movement on the transmitter .

I am testing it as I type this and its been at 9.6 for about 2 hours , can someone advise ne if this is normal please

Default RE: Transmitter battery concern -volts drop fast

sounds about right... mine drops to about 10.4-5 in the first 30 min or so from 11.3 or so volt's... it level's off at 10.5 for about the next flight or two then it's down to around 9.9-10.0 for most if not the rest of the day... about 2-3 hours total flying time... If I'm out for the whole day it hit's 9.8 and just stay's there... I've never seen 9.7 in a day's flying... battery is a 2100 NiHm, radio 9C. How big is your pack? what radio? How long did it go before you hit 9.7? that would be my cut off Beeping or not The only thing I see, that I don't do, is the long trickle. I peak charge mine @.5 amp the night before I'm going flying and let it trickle until I pack up.

For this particulr problem I am useing the Futaba T6EXA - I turned it on at 5:30 to do a throttle check , left it on to do a bettery check , its now 8:15 its at 9.5 volts , dropped below 9.7 around 7:45 .

My plane battery is a 2100 , I have no problem with that one at all .
Thanks for the advice

You dont have a problem. What you are seeing is normal.
A Nicad/Nimh cell has a nominal terminal voltage of 1.2 volts.
An 8 cell transmitter pack would then be 9.6 volts. Around 9.6
volts is where the pack will be for most of its discharge
curve. What you are seeing above 9.6 volts is actually only
a small percentage of the total capacity.

No need to worry until the pack drops below 9.6 volts.
Then you are the steep part of the discharge curve and
it will start falling more rapidly from there.

Your transmitter does not use more power when operating the sticks as I understand it.
