Default Evolution 26gt2 in a Skyshark Edge 540

I recently purchased a Skyshark Edge 540 and am planning on setting it up over the winter. My first thought was to put a Saito 150 in it but come across the Evolution 26 which is comparable in weight motor for motor but then you have the extra battery pack and muffler that I'm sure is somewhat heavier, but I have read articles that say the Skyshark Edge is tail heavy anyway so the extra weight might keep from having to add weight and more motor seems ok to me.My question is has anyone set this combo up and how did it work or just other opinions on this setup. Thanks in advance for any info.

israelg48,

The Skyshark Edge 540 will hover with the Saito 100, I know because I had one. I would have put the Saito 125 on it but they were not out at the time.

bowhunter9500,

The Saito 150 and the Evolution 26 are way to much engine and weight for this plane. Those engines or a little bigger would be more suited for a plane like the QQ Somenzini YAK 54 73", CMP Giles 202 140, or the EF YAK 54 74".
