mtcarey
Not sure how many starts I get out of mine but it will last a long time, way more the 20 starts. I generally charge it before I go to a contest, once a month or two. In the 3 years that I have had mine it only went dead on me once. Mine gets passed around the flight line a lot also.

I get about 2-3 weekends out of it (maybe 20-30 total starts). I'm not even sure I get a full charge on it, as I only use the wall-wart with the special connector. I leave it plugged in overnight, but maybe I don't get 15 hours on it.
In any case, I like the performance so much, I don't mind having to remember to plug it in overnight once every couple of weeks.

It will burn off excess fuel only to a small extent, really. The great thing, though, is that if the engine is flooded, you will see more than the typical 3 or 4 green lights lit- you will know it without a doubt.
