Charging batteries from a field box
I just came back from the hobby shop with some wires that will allow me to connect my receiver/transmitter to the field box battery for charging. But I'm not sure how fast this charging is. I know my wall charger charges at 50ma. What happens when I plug in my 4.8V receiver battery to my 12V field box. It looks to me like this will just be a direct connection and I want to make sure I'm not going to damage anything. My plan is to use my wall charger primarily, but I thought that being able to charge in the field would be nice on occasion. Anyone have any experience with this type of charging system?

RE: Charging batteries from a field box
For clarification, this is what I bought:

Looking at it now, I may have messed up. It appears that these leads are for use with the AccuCycle. I was under the impression that I could hook them up to the power panel on my field box. Maybe I was wrong.

depends on the power panel.... but I don't use one... and I don't know af any that charge...
Sounds like you still need some sort of field charger...
the AccuCycle Elite is nice.
The Multiplex LN-5014 is nice
I also have a Triton Jr and it is good too.....

RE: Charging batteries from a field box
charging your 9.6 transmitter pack on that 12v source wont hurt it much.. tho it may BUT unless your power panel is capable of voltage regulation.. hence turning the output voltage down to 5.4 volts i think is max for a 4.8 pack i wouldnt use it on EITHER of them when you connect 2 batteries together they try to equalize and a 4.8 volt trying to be equalized to 12 volt will probably ruin it as well as the 9.6 tho they can reach voltages off 11 volts safely

Those cables are for charging with a charger like the accucycle or any other of the variety of chargers out there. Its not intended to be a direct connection to your battery or power panel.
