Shipping Models To The UK
Hi I am a new member from the UK i fly large scale models and wish to purchase from the clasified ads, my problem is i dont know the best way to go about getting models shipped to the UK, most ads seem to refer to only shipping in the US or Canada and i need a point of reference to ship to in the US then on to the UK, Any ideas would be welcomed.

RE: Shipping Models To The UK
The main reason you see shipping to US or Canada only from North American shippers is the size limitations on International Post. Larger packages can be sent via UPS, FedEx, or DHL, but the shipping charges get very high very quickly. You could easily spend US$200 to have a US$150 ARF kit sent to you, depending upon the service used. Then add any additional customs or revenue taxes that may be applied at your end.
International shipping can be a very big hassle for US and Canadian shippers for larger packages, so they restrict where they ship...if they will do business with people abroad in the first place. Many individual sellers fear fraud, and so won't deal with international customers. Sometimes domestic fraud is bad enough.
