Default What paint can I use under UltraCote paint

I have been looking for some info on this forum and didn't find any so I need to ask this question. I need to paint a cowl in my plane with H9 Ultracote colors: Read, White and Black. This is for gasoline plane, so I'm not worried about the nitro problem. I read horrible stories about H9 paints (not drying oput), however I used red already on the landing gear and it work for me quite well. Color match is also good.

So I don't have problem with this paint except one: White in not available in my LHS, and it is on backorder everywhere else. I have Red and Black but I'm missing White.
For me white is white, so the perfect color match is not as important as the chemical compatibility. I need to spray White first, than mask it and put Red and Black part. Because Black and Red will layover the White I have to be sure the Ultracote paint sticks to the white one.

So here is the question: What kind of paint (in a rattle can) can I use and than overspray with H9 paint?

Here is the painted LG maching red pants and fiberglass engine cowl to paint. It should look like the original one:

I'm surprised the paint police allows you to spray in Calif.
I too have found the H9 paints to be far superior to the MonoKote non matching sprays. The Krylon lacquer paints should be a safe under layer. Whichever you choose, do a test spray first. From your photos, will you really have to spray over the white if you'd simply mask a top line for the red after the white down to the same line.

Too bad Hangar 9 doesn't have any paints in stock. They haven't been in production in quite some time. Supposedly they are looking for another supplier...

I don't care much about the paint if it's H9 or Krylon. What I care is, that h9 Red maches to my Ultracote red covering. White is white, black is black, so the only thing I care is that my H9 red will not be in conflict with white.

I will try Krylon from Wallmart - see if it will work with H9 paint.
