Accu-cycle elite...incomplete?
I just purchased one of these at my LHS. I brought it home only to discover I can't use it because there are no leads that'll actually connect it to any batteries. What gives. The shop employee didn't mention anything about needing anything else to use this charger. Where do I get connecting wires for my batteries?

You have to make them up as required. The conectors you can get from the LHS and the wire at same place or at an electronics store.

Thanks Jim. I'm guessing that Futaba leads are Futaba leads and will work fine regardless of which Futaba battery one might purchase. Am I correct?

I would recommend that you contact Radical RC and let Dave know of your application and then he can make up leads to meet your needs.

You have to buy the leads for the type of connector you have.......JR/Hitec/Futaba J or other connector for batteries. I even made some connectors for my cordless phones and glow chargers......great charger for low Amp applications. Could use an upgraded fan when discharging multiple batteries at higher amp rates, as it does get warm(hot).

The LHS did a bad job of communications. They probably have wire sets hanging on the wall with Futaba and JR connectors. And have the temp sensor that fits both the Triton and the Elite.
You really don't have to make your own. The leads that work with ESVs work with almost every charger. And ESV leads are everywhere and have been for years.

I've had an ESV for years. When I started using my Elite, I used the leads that'd been used on the ESV. They've got banana plugs on one end that'll fit anything that'll take banana plugs.
I think the top 4 or 5 on the following list have banana plugs on one end and MFG's plugs on the other.

The quality of the leads between the charger and your batteries is very important. To small a gauge or poor connectors can lead to lots of problems in properly detecting peak voltages and other measurements. Do not scrimp here, use first quality parts and large gauge wire and keep the leads as short as practical.
