Default 1/64th" chart tape-where?

Where can I find this stuff-for painting panel lines? Couldn't find anything doing a search on the net. Thanks, Bill.

It's getting harder to find at local shops. I just bought out the entire stock they had left of 1/32" tape at my local drafting/graphic arts store. Most places only carry larger sizes, and even these are getting scarce. CAD and computer graphics have really reduced the market for char tape.

Same around here in this area, does anyone use their hands to make anything these days? If it doesn't work 'out of the box', or run on a PC, or video game, forget it.

I agree; what a terrible loss for our younger generation, not knowing the joy of building (or cooking). China wins again!

If anyone's interested, I couldn't get any either, so made my own. I just made a liteply channel the width of some auto trim tape I had a roll of, pushed a razor blade into the channel 1/64 from one edge, then just pulled the tape through to make miles of what I needed.

Took about 5 minutes to make, and you can get any thicknesses you want this way. Auto trim tape is cheap as, and was easy to apply, didn't bleed, and pulled out easily after rubbing the primer back.

I wondered if auto pin striping would work, but thought the adhesive might be too strong, and lift the primer off also. I'm not clear when you say "rubbing the primer back"? I'm guessing you mean rubbing the primer off of the tape so as not to get chips breaking off next to the tape?
